I had root canal analysis last Tuesday and am still experiencing tenderness within the tooth. The dentist cleaned out my tooth (three canals) and placed a temp. filling. I am going back this Thursday to hold the canals filled and a contemporary temp. filling placed. (Thurs. will make 9 days post RC for the filling). My tooth have just begun to abscess when they did the RC and both the endo and the dentist feel I did not need to take antibiotics when I asked in the order of them. My upper molar is still so sore and tender that I cannot yet put bite pressure on it. When I brush I have to be remarkably gentle because it is so sore. I don't have any jowl pain and have a short time ago been taking advil for the soreness. I have not exhibited any signs of swelling prior to or post RC. Should I be concerned more or less the tenderness of the tooth?

I think it has something to do beside the nerves and how the root canal effects it. I had alike thing happen when I have mine done. It may be sore for awhile. If it starts to swell or becomes more sore or you develop heat contained by the area where the RC be done, or you start running a fever, contact the dentist that did the RC and talk to them around it. Any of those symptoms can be signs of an infection. Any doubts at all, contact the dentist. Good luck and hope it feels better soon.

OMG SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. DONT BITE ON UR TOOTH! it'll hurt alot more following.i did so many time that my fake molar have to get replaced with a porcelain tooth. resourcefully its actually better to get a procelian tooth after getting that crappy silver one and its alot stronger..the problem is it was expensive. but it depends on ur insurance =D. my porcelian tooth is still looking good. i have it changed last year..
