So I go to the Orthodontist today...?

and they put this thing on my mouth that is suppose to correct my overbite. it connects from my bottom chin to the top. every time i bite down it corrects my bite.

Does anyone know what this appliance is actually called?

((no it's not an expander.already have one & gotten it taken off.lol.))

It sounds like you get a herbst appliance.This appliance encourages the lower jaw to grow within a forward direction by positioning it forward and holding it there. It also has the wherewithal to push the upper molars backward..
