I don't know give or take a few the bite plate but I do know some info almost the braces. I used to wear them. I wore them for four years and a moment or two over but in a minute I am wearing a retainer.

It hurt for me but don't freak out! It be one and only because I have to wear Headgear to straighten my mouth and push it towards the back. It simply hurt because they have to put these little rings on the back of my upper teeth and when they be fitting different ones, I get really, really sore and I needed to cry.
When you obtain your braces on they will also tighten the lead that straightens you teeth every call round to the Orthodontist and that may inflict a touch soreness though. I hope this really help you and don't be panicky although when getting them on, it may give somebody a lift a couple of hours... but you should be okay! :D
